La presente investigación pretende realizar una caracterización del movimiento migratorio transfronterizo que existe entre México y Belice, a través de un análisis con perspectiva de género. El recorrido de la labor de investigación comienza por ofrecer un panorama general de la migración y sobre todo el papel que desempeñan las mujeres en la migración: su impacto, su inserción laboral y social y sus vulnerabilidades tanto en el tránsito como en el lugar de destino. Posteriormente, nos centraremos en ofrecer un panorama general e histórico de las relaciones transfronterizas entre México y Belice y conocer los marcos normativos en materia de política migratoria. Finalmente, a través de la reflexión y análisis de extractos de entrevistas realizadas a mujeres migrantes beliceñas que residen en México, realizaremos la caracterización del movimiento migratorio y el análisis de los principales mercados de trabajo regionales. Entre los principales hallazgos de esta investigación, podemos encontrar la evidencia de movimientos migratorios “invisibles” pero con una característica de constancia y aumento; así como mercados de trabajo regionales en el sector de bienes y servicios, que resultan también ser de fácil acceso para dicha población migrante.
The present investigation intends to carry out a characterization of the transboundary migratory movement that exists between Mexico and Belize, through an analysis with a gender perspective. The journey of research begins by offering an overview of migration and especially the role we play as women in migration: its impact, its labor and social insertion and its vulnerabilities both in transit and in destination. . Subsequently, we will focus on providing a general and historical overview of the cross-border relations between Mexico and Belize and know the regulatory frameworks on migration policy. Finally, through the reflection and the analysis of the samples of the interviews of the Belizean migrant women residing in Mexico, we will carry out the characterization of the migratory movement and the analysis of the main regional labor markets. Among the main findings of this research, we can find the evidence of "invisible" migratory movements but with a characteristic of constancy and increase; as well as regional labor markets in the sector of goods and services, as well as easy access for said migrant population.
