This thesis examines the role of audiovisual works in the exhibitions presented at El Cubo, the contemporary art space of the Tijuana Cultural Center (CECUT), and the ways in which they contribute to the construction of representations of the border cultural landscape. Using a qualitative approach, the study analyzes five audiovisual works selected from art exhibitions held between 2008 and 2025, drawing on the theoretical contributions of W. J. T. Mitchell (2002) and Don Mitchell (1996) to examine the relationships among landscape, power, and representation. The audiovisual works analyzed articulate identity, affective, and social experiences through representations of the landscape that address issues such as migration, violence, memory, and ways of inhabiting the border. By becoming part of the museum space, these representations shape cultural landscapes that encourage critical reflection on territory, border experiences, and the processes of meaning-making associated with the border.
